The Lookout Restaurant is situated upstairs over Jacob’s Bar enjoying spectacular views of Baltimore Bay & the Islands from its 25 foot panoramic window. The Jacob Family began serving their Breton style fair over 40 years ago in their famous Chez Youen Restaurant. That ethos continues today at The Lookout Restaurant where the traditional family recipes of 40 years past remain true to form. Simple, fresh, uncomplicated fruits of the sea. We also serve a small selection of meat options for those non seafood loving guests. Opening arrangements for 2021 Season are yet to be confirmed.
Our aim in The Lookout Restaurant is to provide well produced uncomplicated seafood at reasonable prices in a relaxed environment. The style of food ranges from fresh fish of the day to our famous Seafood Platters which the Jacob family have been serving in their restaurants for over 40 years. We also have a range of meat options for non fish eaters and are happy to cater for medical dietary requirements by prior arrangement. The Lookout Restaurant is not recommended for children. We would encourage families to consider our bar food options.
How to Book
The Lookout is our hotel dining room seasonal restaurant specialising in seafood, located on the first floor of the hotel and is a separate venue to Jacob’s Bar. We open May to September from 6.30 p.m. by prior booking only. The restaurant operates on a “Set Menu” basis only with a focus on fresh fish and shellfish. Max 6 per table. Not recommended for children. Opening arrangements for the 2021 Season are yet to be confirmed.
The restaurant offers 3 set menus starting at €55 per person to €65 per person with a focus on fresh fish and shellfish. The restaurant is not recommended for children. We do offer an ideal solution for families in our casual bar food venue, Jacob’s Bar.
Medical Dietary Requirements / Celiac Disease……We would be delighted to cater for medical dietary requirements upon prior written request within reason (at least 48 hours notice). Those with celiac disease will be pleased to know 95% of items on our menus are gluten free as standard.
